THE SCHOOL
A lifetime of Scripture study.
Veymont is a KJV-only school for sustained, serious study of the Bible. Its course of study moves from first principles toward demonstrated understanding in particular subjects. It is built for a lifetime of learning, without semesters or a single spiritual rank.
The Book comes first.
Veymont accompanies your physical King James Bible. Every lesson begins with an assigned passage to open and read in your own Bible. Bring a separate notebook, use your private Veymont study notes, or keep a worksheet or reference log. Leave your Bible unmarked: no writing, underlining, highlighting, or alterations are part of this curriculum.
The Authorized King James Version is the text of every lesson, lab, and examination. Read the passage before the commentary. Test the explanation against the text. Keep observations, interpretations, and applications distinct enough that another reader can examine the reasoning.
The school's doctrinal direction is KJV-only and dispensational, with a substantial influence from Peter Ruckman's teaching and illustrated approach to instruction. The curriculum is original instructional material. It is not a Ruckman archive, an endorsement by his estate, or a replacement for Scripture or the local church.
Freely available. Freely supported.
All of Veymont’s study features are free: the curriculum, Scripture labs, examinations, retention reviews, private notes, archive, and scholarly commons. The school is sustained through voluntary donations. Giving is never a condition of access and has no influence on academic progress, awards, or the review of a paper.
Understanding demonstrated.
Each opening study includes three extended lessons, five-question knowledge checks, and a twelve-question examination. All labs must be completed before the examination. A result of 80% or higher establishes proficiency in the material tested. Every result uses a fixed answer key and retains the examination version.
Retention reviews begin one day after a completed lesson. A correct review schedules the next in seven days, then every thirty days. Two successful scheduled reviews of each lesson, proficiency on the examination, and one approved, defended milestone paper covering the subject’s three-course block meet the opening study's mastery criteria.
These in-house recognitions describe the scope of the study demonstrated. They are not accredited degrees, pastoral ordination, or a measurement of a person's standing before God.
Scholarship that remains.
Formal papers are required at two strategic milestones, not as a recurring lesson assignment. Ordinary written exercises are private, ungraded practice. A paper begins privately at the writing desk and must pass automated KJV evidence checks and independent substantive review. Approved papers are normally released once each month; unfinished reviews carry forward. Students keep studying during review. Every revision is retained privately, and only approved versions become public. Readers can discuss, appreciate, review, or formally challenge an argument. A challenge can be resolved by the scholar who raised it.
Defended status requires two independently moderated supporting peer reviews of an approved revision and no unresolved challenges. Appreciation alone cannot establish that status. A new revision must earn its own independent reviews.
Sources & standards
The permanent Scripture archive includes all 66 books of the KJV, served with this application for posterity, verification, and secondary reference. Lessons direct you to your physical Bible first. Its digital text is drawn from Arul John's Bible-kjv collection. The source's MIT license and provenance record accompany it. Typography, paragraphing, and supplied-word italics may differ from a printed edition; consult your printed KJV when those details matter to your argument.
The opening lessons are editorial curriculum drafts and remain open to doctrinal review. Quoted Scripture is distinguished from instructional explanation. Ruckman quotations or copyrighted lesson reproductions have not been invented or supplied as though licensed.
The audit checks exact complete verse quotations in the evidence ledger against this hosted text, allowing whitespace and typographic quotation-mark differences. It does not automatically certify every claim in a manuscript. Independent reviewers must examine all other quotations, contextual reasoning, sources, and conduct. The school does not claim that a review can make human interpretation infallible.
Your work and your account
Study notes, progress, examination attempts, and unpublished papers remain private to you and appointed reviewers. Your private study notes are not part of the review queue. A published author name and paper, and any approved contribution to its discussion, are publicly visible. Lounge messages are shared with signed-in students after ongoing moderation. Publish only what you intend to attach to that scholarly record.
